Woman Drove Drunk With Kids In Car: Florham Park Police

Police say the woman could not stay awake as they spoke to her.

FLORHAM PARK, NJ — A Whippany woman was arrested after allegedly driving drunk with two children in the car, Florham Park police said.

Elizabeth K. Featherston, 32, was arrested on Sept. 15, police said, after she was involved in an accident on Columbia Turnpike. Police say she was going in and out of consciousness when they responded to the scene, and smelled like alcohol.

Police searched her car, and say they found an empty wine bottle and two minor children. Because Featherston could not stay awake, she was taken to Morristown Medical Center for an evaluation; the children were turned over to a responsible adult.
