EAST WINDSOR, NJ — East Windsor resident and current School Board member Jeanne Bourjolly is running for reelection this November. As an active community member, Bourjolly says she understands firsthand the issues faced by the community. If elected to another term, she hopes to incorporate more STEM in the overall school curriculum, and work towards incorporating more programs to better the school district.

Occupation - I have worked for NJ state government since 2001.

Previous or Current Elected or Appointed Office - I am currently a Board member for the East Windsor School District and a Board member for the Walter C. Black Parent Teacher Organization (WCB PTO).

Why are you seeking elective office?

Our community, East Windsor, NJ is not only where I am raising my son but also where I proudly serve. If I am elected to continue my journey on the school board, my mission is to continue achieving better schools for our community.

The single most pressing issue facing our school district is _______, and this is what I intend to do about it.

The single most pressing issue facing our community is lack of communication. Better communication between the district and our community will help us grow stronger and more united.

What are the critical differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

The most critical difference between my opponent and I is that I am active in my community. My family and I attend events, participate in the township recreational sports, dine in the area and so on. Being a part of the community means I understand and know firsthand the issues and struggles in our community.

Describe the other issues that define your campaign platform.

The overall curriculum needs to incorporate more STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). Also, the 8th grade mathematics curriculum needs to improve.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

I am the program coordinator for a NJ state departmental mentoring program. I have years of experience developing individuals, programs and connecting individuals from all professional spectrums. I care about individuals overall success and happiness.

What else would you like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I believe in our community’s overall success. I believe if communication is more transparent between the district, government officials and the community then East Windsor, NJ will grow stronger as a community.
