East Windsor Dairy Queen Honored For Keeping Community Clean
The township recently recognized Dairy Queen for keeping East Windsor litter free.

EAST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — The East Windsor Dairy Queen has been recognized with a “Certificate of Appreciation for Keeping East Windsor Township Litter Free,” township officials announced.
Mayor Janice S. Mironov and the East Windsor Clean Communities Advisory Committee presented the award to East Windsor Dairy Queen owners George and Margaret Vardakis. The family owned and operated business on Route 130 north opened in 1964 and recently celebrated 55 years in the community.
Serving ice cream all year round, Dairy Queen is an active corporate citizen, participating in and supporting many community special events and programs throughout the year, including the Adopt-A-Spot program annual wrap-up event, National Night Out, school events, community youth sports programs and local Scout projects, township officials said.

“Dairy Queen is a local business situated in a highly visible prominent location on a major township road,” East Windsor Mayor Janice S. Mironov said. “They have done a great job keeping their property and building well maintained, landscaped and free of litter, thereby enhancing the municipal appearance and environment. Dairy Queen clearly has undertaken significant efforts in working to make East Windsor Township a cleaner and healthier and more attractive community, which is a major benefit to our community. We also note and appreciate that Dairy Queen is a longstanding popular and generous township business.”
