East Windsor Launches Child Passenger Car Seat Safety Initiative
Under the program, East Windsor residents can have their child car seats inspected for proper fit and installation, for free.
EAST WINDSOR NJ — Mayor Janice Mironov announced that East Windsor Township is launching a Child Passenger Car Seat Safety initiative beginning June through September.
The program is designed to educate motorists about properly securing children passengers in child seats as required by New Jersey law. East Windsor residents can have their child car seats inspected for proper fit and installation and receive materials on the use of child car seats and current child restraint laws, for free.
A complete inspection takes less than 10 minutes and is conducted by nationally certified safety technicians. No appointment is necessary.

"The proper use of child car seats is one of the simplest and most effective means to protect young children passengers.”
Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of unintentional injury-related deaths among children ages 14 and under in the United States. Properly installed seats can prevent injuries and save lives, said the township.
The initiative was made possible through a $6,000 New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety.
