East Windsor Man Killed In Hit-And-Run Crash: Police
A Plainsboro man has been arrested and charged in the hit-and-run death of 34-year-old Daniel Castro, police said on Wednesday.
EAST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — A 34-year-old East Windsor man was killed after he was struck by a car while walking on Main Street last week, police said on Wednesday. Daniel Castro was struck while walking on North Main Street near the border with Cranbury on Friday, Dec. 13, East Windsor police said on Wednesday.
Police were called to the scene at about 8:35 p.m., and the car had already left the scene by the time they arrived. He was pronounced deceased on the scene by medical personnel, according to police.
During an ensuing investigation, East Windsor police and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office found parts from a 2010 Honda CRV that they used to track down the driver, police said.
The driver was identified as 53-year-old Adeola Olapade, of Plainsboro. Olapade was arrested and detained at the Mercer County Correctional Facility pending court action, police said.

Olapade was charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash resulting in a death, leaving the scene of a motor vehicle crash, failure to report a motor vehicle crash and careless driving.
