Heroin Found In Car During DUI Arrest, Say East Windsor Police

Police said they found heroin and counterfeit currency in car during a motor vehicle stop on Duck Neck Road.

EAST WINDSOR, NJ — A motor vehicle stop led to the arrest of two on charges of DUI and alleged possession of heroin, said East Windsor police on Thursday.

Patrol Officer John Cate stopped a car at 3:32 a.m. on Tuesday, after he said it ran a red light on Duck Neck Road. The driver, Michelle Ramos of Beverly "exhibited signs of impairment” and was arrested, said the police.

When police searched the vehicle, they said they found heroin. The rear passenger, Nathaniel Douglas of Trenton, claimed ownership of it and was arrested. Police said they also found Douglas in possession of counterfeit currency.

Ramos was arrested and charged with DUI, refusal to submit to breath test, reckless driving, failure to observe signal, failure to wear seat belt and open container of alcohol in motor vehicle.

Douglas was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and forgery.

Ramos and Douglas were later released pending court action.
