Man With Fully Loaded AK-47 Arrested In East Windsor: Police

A South Carolina man was arrested for DWI while in possession of a fully loaded assault rifle on the NJ Turnpike, state police said.

EAST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — A South Carolina man was arrested and a fully loaded AK-47 was seized during a traffic stop in East Windsor early Saturday morning, according to state police.

New Jersey State Troopers stopped 33-year-old Jonathan Lorick, of Lexington, S.C., for a traffic violation while driving south on the New Jersey Turnpike in East Windsor at about 2:41 a.m. on Aug. 17, police said Tuesday evening.

Police arrested Lorick for DWI, and after further investigation, said they discovered a fully-loaded AK-47 rifle in his possession.

Lorick was charged with certain persons not to have weapons, unlawful possession of weapons, resisting arrest, aggravated assault, prohibited weapons and devices, obstruction, disorderly conduct and DWI. He was lodged in Mercer County Jail pending a bail detention hearing.
