This November, Dine Out to Wage Hope Against Pancreatic Cancer

Area restaurants are teaming with Kelly's Heroes, a local nonprofit, to support pancreatic cancer early detection efforts.

November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, and Kelly's Heroes, a local nonprofit, is waging hope with the help of local restaurants in Hightstown and East Windsor. In the organization's first Dine Out for Early Detection event, local residents can support an important cause by simply enjoying a great meal at participating restaurants and showing the Dine Out for Early Detection flier. The restaurants will donate a portion of the tab to support pancreatic cancer research. Download the Dine Out for Early Detection flier at www.kellysheroes.net/join-us .

All proceeds will be devoted to research at academic medical centers working to develop an early detection test. Pancreatic cancer is the third leading cause of cancer death, with a five-year survival rate of just 9 percent. The chances of survival increase dramatically if the cancer is caught early, but unfortunately there is no reliable screening test for pancreatic cancer.

Following are the locations and dates of the community-minded restaurants that are participating:
