Second Shot At Independence (Day): East Windsor Fireworks To Go Off Saturday Night

The show, originally scheduled for Saturday, July 1, is now scheduled for July 8.

EAST WINDSOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — East Windsor residents have one more chance to celebrate Independence Day this weekend. After the celebration was rained out on Saturday, July 1, it was rescheduled for this Saturday, July 8, at Etra Lake Park.

This time, the show will most likely go off, as the forecast calls for partly cloudy skies during the day with a small chance for precipitation at night.

Jerry Rife's Rhythm Kings Dixieland Jazz Band, a six-piece band from the Delaware Valley area best known for its traditional jazz sound, will perform at 6 p.m. The Trenton Brass Quintet Plus One, a 6 piece ensemble from Central Jersey will perform "Americana" and a variety of popular melodies at 7:30 p.m.

The night will be capped by a fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. Residents are invited to bring their blankets and chairs and use the barbecue grills for a night of free fun. There also will be vendors present selling refreshments.
