1 Injured In Apartment Fire Above Englewood Pet Store

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — A fire broke out Sunday morning in an apartment above a pet shop on Engle Street, Englewood, causing one person to be injured, according to the Englewood Fire Department.
The resident was observed and treated at the scene by Englewood Hospital EMS and later released.
The fire happened at around 9:29 a.m. on the top floor of a three-story building. Firefighters saw smoke coming from a third-floor window on the Engle Street side of the building.

The fire was upgraded to a 2-alarm, as firefighters called for additional resources. The fire was then quickly extinguished and placed under control at by:46 a.m.
Damages to the structure and contents were minimal, and all occupants were able to safely return to their apartments with utilities intact.
