4 Big NY Waterway Changes

Increased Downtown Service, Edgewater Ferry is Back, Expanded Midtown Bus Service, and Monthly Passes now Available

NY Waterway has four big changes underway: increased frequency of ferries to Downtown Manhattan, the relaunch of Edgewater ferry service, additional Midtown bus service and the sale of monthly passes for all routes for the first time since the pandemic.

NEW Increased Weekday Downtown Ferry Service

· Weekdays: Ferries run every 40 minutes during morning rush hour (6:18am-10:10am) and evening run hour (3:50pm-7:20pm) between Port Imperial, Hoboken 14th Street, Hoboken NJ Transit Terminal, Brookfield Place and Wall Street/Pier 11.

NEW Weekday Edgewater Ferry Service

  • Morning Rush Hours: Ferries will run every 40 minutes from Edgewater Ferry Landing between 6:05am to 9:25am, making stops at Port Imperial, Hoboken 14th Street, Hoboken NJ Transit Terminal, Brookfield Place and Pier 11/Wall Street. Riders can transfer to Midtown-bound ferries at Port Imperial.
  • Evening Rush Hours: Return service in the evening rush hour will depart Pier 11 every 40 minutes between 3:50pm and 7:10pm, making stops at Brookfield Place, Hoboken NJ TRANSIT Terminal, Hoboken 14th Street, Port Imperial and Edgewater.

NEW Midtown Bus Service

  • Buses from Midtown/39th Street will now operate on two routes, 50th Street and 57th Street, rather than a single loop. The expanded service will speed trips and add capacity as more riders return.

NEW Monthly Passes on Sale for All Routes

  • Monthly passes are now available for sale for all routes, allowing riders returning to work more often to save on commuting. Use the NY Waterway app to purchase tickets.
