Dueling Cheesesteak Pop-Up Coming To Englewood

Chefs from Biddy O'Malley's and Caffe Anello will use Wagyu meat, roasted garlic mascarpone, and smoked cipolini onions in their sandwiches.

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — Cheesesteak lovers rejoice, two of Bergen County's most renowned chefs will cook their takes on the sandwich at a special pop-up soon.

The Dueling Cheesesteaks will be at Biddy O'Mailey's on Friday, Oct. 11 from 8:30 p.m. to midnight Saturday.

Biddy O'Mailey's Executive Chef Wilson Lindermann and Cafe Anello Exeuctive Chef John Vitale will face-off in the event for the title of Dueling Cheesesteak King.

  • Vitale's will feature A5 Wagyu meat, the highest-graded Japanese beef, with a roasted garlic mascarpone and ricotta spread on toasted custom-baked bread
  • Lindermann's will have a 48-hour sous vide short rib, smoked cipolini onions, blistered shishito peppers, crispy shitake mushrooms, American-aged provolone "whiz," on a grilled baguette.

Side dishes

  • Vitale's side dishes will be sweet and spicy potato fries, which are honey-marinated sweet potato fries dusted with cinnamon sugar and guanciale mac and cheese with guanciale cacio e pepe
  • Linderman's sides will be Hudson Valley Foie Gras Poutine, with hand-cut Kennebec potatoes, Yancy's Fancy Cheddar curds, and black truffle salt and loaded potato gnocchi mac and cheese with Knockanore oak smoked cheddar, Nueske's bacon, chives, potato skins, and sour cream
