Dwight Morrow Marching Band Preparing for Bergen Blowout

Englewood's Dwight Morrow High School marching band will once again unite with Hackensack High School and Teaneck High School for the Bergen Blowout event at the bergenPac next week.

The three high school's marching bands will combine forces to showcase their talents and musicality all in one venue on Wednesday, Oct. 23. The event is broken into three segments where the color guard, drumline, and the full ensemble of each band are highlighted. The three bands for the Grand Finale come together and close the event with a joint piece.

Proceeds from the event are split evenly among the three high school music departments.

Bergen Blowout was created by Gary Hollander, program manager of fine and performing arts at Englewood's Dwight Morrow High School, and music teacher at  McCloud Elementary School and Janis E. Dismus Middle School.
Last year's Bergen Blowout drew ground breaking crowds and this year's event is expected to be a monumental one. All three bands are expected to play "I Want You Back" by the Jackson 5. The event is designed to be a friendly competition among the three schools bringing family and friends from the three communities together for a night of fun.

Tickets cost $10 and are currently being sold by members of the marching band. Englewood residents can email Hollander at ghollander@epsd.org or call 201-862-6000 ext. 6724 for tickets.
Additional merchandise including a T-shirt and DVD will also benefit the marching band programs.
