This is East Hanover Mayor Joe Pannullo with a special announcement.
Please be advised the East Hanover Health Department has informed us that since the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak, East Hanover has had 202 confirmed cases. That is an increase of 14 new cases since last week. All 14 of the new cases are home quarantined. Sadly, we have had one resident pass away since last week. We ask that you pray for those who have the virus and to pray for those families that have lost their loved ones.

Of the 202 cases, 170 cases are closed meaning that all appropriate protocols were taken; the isolation period is over and completed according to the NJ State Department of Health guidelines. Sadly, we report that there have been 18 fatalities in East Hanover due to the coronavirus since the beginning of the Pandemic.
I have spoken to East Hanover Schools Supt. Natalee Bartlett and we ask you to please consider the following: If you or any member of your family is sick and you have school aged children DO NOT send your children to school until you know the disposition of the sick person in your family. If you or anyone in your family was exposed to someone who has the Covid-19 virus, we ask you self-quarantine, get tested, and self-quarantine until you get the results of your test-and that mean self-quarantine for your entire family especially the school age children. We are simply trying to stop the spread of this terrible virus. We hope you listen to our suggestions. If you do not adhere to those suggestions, you put your family and the entire school population at risk which could result in school closings.
We thank you for continuing to patronize our local businesses. I would also like to thank all our first responders.
