Englewood Cliffs Planning Ahead for Future Storm Emergencies

Englewood Cliffs is planning ahead in order to be ready in the event of future emergencies.

Council members agreed last week to bond for roughly $525,000 towards the purchase of 13 generators which would be used to power up traffic lights, pump stations, the DPW and municipal building in the event of another storm emergency, reported NorthJersey.com.

Disabled traffic lights on major roads in town such as 9W caused  an alarmingly dangerous situation after Superstorm Sandy and officials want to be ready in the event of another major power outage, according to the report.

The bond will also fund new garbage packer truck which the borough will use for recycling, the report stated.
