Englewood Native Being Vetted for Trading Futures Commission Seat, Report Says
Bloomberg News is reporting that J. Christopher Giancarlo is in the running for a seat on the five-person U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission.

Englewood native J. Christopher Giancarlo is being vetted for a spot on the influential U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission, according to a Bloomberg report.
The current Haworth resident and Wall Street executive at GFI Group is expected to be nominated by Republicans to take the seat of Jill E. Sommers, the news site reported, citing anonymous sources. The five-member commission is working to draft Dodd-Frank regulations on the trade swaps market.
According to Bloomberg, Giancarlo, a Dwight Morrow graduate, has said further regulations on the derivatives market would put the U.S. at a disadvantage internationally. Democrats reportedly have their own candidates in mind for the seat.
