Englewood Salvation Army Opening Doors For Relief From Heat
The heat index, which takes the real temperature and humidity into account, is supposed to hit anywhere from 102 to 107 on Friday afternoon.
ENGLEWOOD, NJ — The Salvation Army is providing its chapel as a place where people can cool down and escape the heat blanketing North Jersey.
The chapel will be open until 4 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
A hazardous weather outlook and an excessive heat warning have been issued statewide for the next three days as the heat index is supposed to zoom past 100 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.

The heat index, which takes the real temperature and humidity into account, is supposed to hit anywhere from 102 to 107 on Friday afternoon. The heat index is supposed to be at its worst at 5 p.m.
Then it will zoom anywhere from 108 to 116 on Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon. The worst of it is supposed to happen in Ocean County, where the heat index could hit 116 in Toms River. The heat index is supposed to be highest at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
