Saint Paul's Episcopal Church to Host Black Heritage Concert
Composer Robert Martin presents a concert for Black History Month on Sunday, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m.

Music at St Paul’s presents a concert of music in honor of black composers on Sunday, Feb. 28 at 5 p.m. The concert, featuring composer Robert Martin, is set to take place at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Englewood. Featured on the program will be arrangements of spirituals by Eli Vilanuevo, James Weldon Johnson and Hall Johnson as well as selections by Duke Ellington and art songs by contemporary composers Marques L. A. Garrett and Robert Martin.
Based in New York City, Martin studied voice and composition at the University of South Florida. He has been a featured soloist in performances Fauré’s “Requiem,” Virgil Thomson’s “The Mother of Us All” and Bach’s “St. John Passion.” Martin’s compositions have been performed by the USF Collegium, Congregational Church of Weston and singers at the Berkshire Choral Festival.
Members of the public are welcome to attend. Tickets are not required, and there is a suggested donation of $20 and $10 for students and seniors. St Paul’s Episcopal Church is located at 113 Engle St.
