"We started the business because we are sneaker heads ourselves and love fashion," Perlaza said. "We decided to open a store and offer the convenience of getting limited items at a local store."
What separates the store from others like it, Perlaza said, is they have the ability to get to know customers well and get a feel for what they like, as opposed to the impersonal experience of shopping online.

"We plan to have a good relationship with each one of our customers," Perlaza said. "We want to actually find out what their needs are and speak with them directly."
Perlaza had wanted to open a store for some time. He worked as a stock manager at Pottery Barn for 12 years before opening the store.
"I decided it was time to work for myself and do what I love," Perlaza said.
NYCSE is located at 6 South Dean St.
"We choose Englewood because we see this town as the new Hoboken," Perlaza said.
