New Principal Takes Over At Dwight Morrow HS In Englewood

ENGLEWOOD, NJ — Dwight Morrow High School has a new principal.

Benjamin Suro started as leader of the school July 1. He has 15 years of experience in education.

"Taking the reins at Dwight Morrow High School is an incredible opportunity and I look forward to giving my all to the students in this fine institution," said Principal Suro. "I look forward to applying the lessons I have learned and strategies I have seen succeed over my over 15 years of educational experience to prepare for the upcoming school year and make DMHS a leading school in our community and state."

Suro was hired as principal July 1. Previously, he was vice president of the S.T.E.M. Academy at John F. Kennedy High School in Paterson and was the district supervisor of Science for the Orange School District, and taught biology at Bergen County Technical Schools.

Suro is pursing his doctorate in educational leadership from St. Peter's University.

Suro also volunteers with Big Brothers and Sisters of America and the Special Olympics.

"The Board of Education hopes that Benjamin Suro will help turn Dwight Morrow around and put forth a positive vision for our school’s future," said Englewood School Board President Kim Donaldson. "We acknowledge the importance of leaders understanding both the challenges that we face as a school and the need to generate meaningful change for our students and faculty. I'm confident Principal Suro has what it takes to meet those goals."
