NJ Transit Offering Early Gateway Service For Labor Day
The service begins Friday on rail and bus service lines. Kids will ride free all Labor Day weekend.
NORTH JERSEY — NJ Transit is offering early getaway bus and rail service for Labor Day weekend beginning Friday.
NJ Transit is offering the Family SuperSaver Fare. Two kids 11 and younger can ride NJ Transit lines for free with a fare-paying adult.
Friday
From about 1:30 to 4 p.m., extra outbound trains will run on the Northeast Corridor, North Jersey Coast, Raritan Valley, Morris & Essex, Pascack Valley, and Main/Bergen County/Port Jervis lines.

Schedule adjustments will be made from 4 to 7 p.m., including cancelling or combining trains, adding stops, and changing Secaucus connections, NJ Transit said.
Extra buses will run from the Port Authority Bus Terminal and the schedules of more than two dozens routes will be adjusted beginning around noon.

All light rail systems will run on a regular weekday schedule.
Saturday and Sunday
Trains will run on a regular weekday schedule. Saturday and Sunday schedules will be in effect for buses, with a few added buses to accommodate holiday crowds, NJ Transit said.
The Hudson-Bergen light rail lines will run on a weekend schedule. The Newark and River LINE lines will operate on a Saturday and Sunday schedule.

Labor Day
Rail trains will operate on a weekend/major holiday schedule. Also, an additional train will leave from Port Jervis at 4:09 .m. and will make all stops to Suffern, then will operate express to Secaucus and Hoboken.
Most bus lines will run on a Saturday or Sunday schedule. Routes 111 and 139 will run on special schedules.
The Hudson-Bergen light rail line will operate on a weekend schedule. The Newark light rail line will run on a Saturday schedule. The River LINE will run on a Sunday/holiday schedule.
