One River Gallery in Englewood to Celebrate the Creative Spirit of Childhood with "Lady Macbeth's Bat Mitzvah"

One River Gallery in Englewood will present the multimedia exhibit "Lady Macbeth's Bat Mitzvah" from 1/15 through 3/7.

One River Gallery in Englewood, northern New Jersey’s premier exhibition space for contemporary art, will present “Lady Macbeth’s Bat Mitzvah”, a multimedia show featuring works by six compelling emerging artists that captures reflections of their youth. The show will run from January 15 through March 7, and is curated by Adrianne Rubinstein.

“I’m thrilled to have Adrianne curating for us’,” says Matt Ross, founder of One River. “She exemplifies what’s right about the art world, and the artists who she’s chosen embody the spirit of what we strive to teach at our school, and share at our gallery.”

Adrianne Rubenstein completed her undergraduate work at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design and received her MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2011. Her work has been included in exhibitions at Derek Eller, David Petersen Gallery in Minneapolis, et al. in San Francisco and CANADA, New York, where she is the Director.

“All of the artists in ‘Lady Macbeth’s Bat Mitzvah’ love children for their creative innocence and quirky motor skills, but the thing we love most about them is stealing their ideas!” says Rubenstein. “We’re all using vintage relics in our works and trying to reconnect with the purity, playfulness, and tomfoolery of our childhood experiences.”
