Rosie's Weenie Wagon Hoping to Stay Put in Englewood

Rosario "Rosie" D'Rivera is doing all she can to keep her popular hot dog truck - Rosie's Weenie Wagon - operating in the city.

Earlier this week the city told D'Rivera her truck had to move from its usual station at Nordhoff and Sheffield avenues due to ordinance violations, according to NorthJersey.com.

News has quickly spread since in the local media and on social networking sites like Rosie's own Facebook page where she continues to keep her customers posted as to where she will park the truck next.

On Wednesday morning, she posted on Facebook she would be at her usual spot from 11 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. She asked her customers to "park legally and not block traffic."

NorthJersey.com reported D'Rivera attended the city council meeting Tuesday night asking officials for 'leniency' while she searches for a new route in the city.

According to the report the city has a decades old ordinance which bans stationary food truck and the city must enforce the rules to set an example for other food trucks which may wish to come into the city as there have been many requests.

Rosie's Weenie Wagon opened last summer and is known for its unique offerings of hot dog toppings and more.

The food truck was recently named top choice for Best Cheap Eats in the county in the annual Best of Bergen Restaurant and Food Readers’ Choice Awards by Bergen Health and Life Magazine.

D'Rivera continues to keep her customers up to date on the trucks location via her Facebook and Twitter pages.
