Wednesday in Englewood: Jazz at the Library

Former Dizzy Gillespie bandmate Ed Cherry performs.

*Top-notch jazz musician Ed Cherry will be bringing his guitar to the Englewood Public Library for the city's ongoing summer jazz concert series.

Cherry played with Englewood native Dizzy Gillespie from 1978 to 1992, performing in the legend's quartet, big band and with The United Nation Orchestra.

The free show starts up at 7:30 p.m. and wraps up at about 9:30 p.m.  Check out more on Cherry here.

*Due to the replacement of the Flat Rock Brook Bridge, the eastbound left and center lanes of Route 4 will be closed from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. One eastbound lane will remain open. You may want to consider alternates if you have somewhere to be during that window.

*On Wednesday, Patch will also be bringing you the latest on the city council's discussion on the shuttered ice rink.
