Work to Build Eleanor Harvey Park Starts Up, Report Says

Passive recreation park at 500 Liberty should open in about two years.

Ground will soon break on a new park in Englewood, according to a recently published report.

The Liberty Road estate once owned by Englewood Historical Society founder Eleanor Harvey, who died in 2007 at age 97, will become a park fairly soon, The Northern Valley Suburbanite reports.

The city council awarded a $42,550 contract to build six parking spots and a walkway through money from the late resident's trust, the report noted.

When finished in approximately two years, it will be a "passive" park free of basketball courts and baseball fields, according to the report.
