Fair Lawn Hero Is 'On The Front Line Every Day'

FAIR LAWN, NJ — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented times. Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these everyday heroes.

This submission comes from two people, Kajal and Margi Patel, of Fair Lawn, who have nominated Varun Patel, also of Fair Lawn.

Why do you believe the nominee should be recognized or honored?

Varun Patel is on the front-line every day! Not only during the coronavirus pandemic but every single day he is out there fighting for the well-being of others. In times like this we tend to take the time to thank these everyday heroes but they truly deserve the thanks every single day. This outbreak has just recently started but these men and women, like Varun are out there everyday fighting a war we can’t even imagine fighting; the war to save other human beings. He never complains about his hours whether it’s 7 a.m. - 11 p.m. or 7 p.m. to 11 a.m. he wakes up, puts on his scrubs and he is out there fighting for us and our loved ones. For this I truly believe Varun should be honored.

What’s one thing you want everyone to know about your hero?:

One thing everyone should know about Varun is that when he cares about someone he does everything in his power to make sure he does all he can for that person. It could be his son at home for whom he works countless hours and spends whatever free time he has solving little Jiyaan’s favorite puzzles. Or it could be the 90 year old woman who comes in for treatment and automatically grows an attachment for him and says she’ll only listen to Varun. He will make sure he is 100 percent in it for the ones he loves and even for strangers he just meets.
