Fair Lawn School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Fair Lawn is September 6 for grades 1-12 and September 7 for kindergarten. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Fair Lawn Public School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 9/1: Teachers Only
• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/5: Teachers Only
• 9/6: First Day for Grades 1-12
• 9/7: First Day for Kindergarten
• 9/21 - 9/22: No School (Rosh Hashanah)

October

• 10/19: Early Dismissal for Students (PLC Day)

November

• 11/7: Early Dismissal for Students (Teacher Inservice)
• 11/9 - 11/10: No School for Students (Teacher Convention)
• 11/22: Early Dismissal
• 11/23 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/22: Early Dismissal
• 12/25 - 1/1: No School (Winter Recess)

January

• 1/1: No School (Winter Recess)
• 1/15: Early Dismissal for Students (Teacher Inservice)

February

• 2/1: Early Dismissal for Students (PLC Day)
• 2/19 - 2/23: No School (February Recess)

March

• 3/30: No School (Good Friday)

April

• 4/2 - 4/6: No School (Spring Recess)
• 4/12: Early Dismissal for Students (PLC Day)
