NEW JERSEY — Congressman Bill Pascrell Jr. has seen enough of Rudolph Giuliani and the rest of President Donald Trump's legal team, so much so that he's seeking to have them disbarred.

"The pattern of behavior by these individuals to effectuate Mr. Trump’s sinister arson is a danger not just to our legal system but is also unprecedented in our national life," he wrote in letters to the bar authorities of Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, New York and Pennsylvania, seeking to have Giuliani and 22 other Trump attorneys disbarred.

A former New York mayor and current leader of Trump's legal team, Giuliani has — along with the rest of that team — been under fire for their post-election conduct. It includes odd news conferences, questionable legal arguments and a viral moment or two that will be — and already has been — the template of many an internet laugh.

The legal team has even drawn ire from allies such as former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

"The conduct of the president's legal team has been a national embarrassment," Christie said during a recent television appearance.

Pascrell is no ally to the president.

In an action first announced on Twitter, Pascrell said he submitted the letters after the legal team filed "frivolous lawsuits" and tried "to help Trump steal the election and dismantle democracy."

In his letter to the State of New York Grievance Committee, Pascrell said Giuliani had used his legal power to breed concern about the election.

"In his capacity as a public spokesman and attorney representing the presidential campaign of Donald Trump, Mr. Giuliani has participated in frivolous lawsuits and used our nation’s courts to assault public confidence in the United States electoral system, violating the New York Rules of Professional Conduct," he wrote.

Giuliani isn't the only member of that legal team whose comments have drawn swift rebuttals.

In that recent television appearance, Christie, a former federal prosecutor, referred to the "outrageous" behavior of Trump attorney Sidney Powell, who accused Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp of a crime on television without evidence. Powell has since been removed from the legal team.

"They won't do it inside the courtroom," Christie said. "They allege fraud outside the courtroom, but when they go inside the courtroom, they don't plead fraud, and they don't argue fraud."

Here are the other members of Trump's legal team Pascrell is seeking to have disbarred, and in which states he is seeking to do it:

  • Kory Langhofer, Arizona
  • Thomas Basile, Arizona
  • Brett Johnson, Arizona
  • Eric H. Spencer, Arizona
  • Mark F. Hearne, II, Michigan
  • Stephen S. Davis, Michigan
  • J. Matthew Belz, Michigan
  • Brian Hardy, Nevada
  • Susan Gillespie, Nevada
  • Alex Calaway, Nevada
  • Donald Campbell, Nevada
  • J. Colby Williams, Nevada
  • David O'Mara, Nevada
  • Marc A. Scaringi, Pennsylvania
  • Brian C. Caffrey, Pennsylvania
  • Ronald L. Hicks, Jr., Pennsylvania
  • Carolyn B. McGee, Pennsylvania
  • Linda A. Kerns, Pennsylvania
  • Joseph Pizzo, Pennsylvania
  • Kenneth Ferris, Pennsylvania
  • Jonathan Goldstein, Pennsylvania
  • Britain Henry, Pennsylvania

Pascrell has been a harsh critic of the Trump and has, on multiple occasions, sought to have the president and various players in his administration held responsible for actions he deemed below board.

Recently, Pascrell called for an investigation into the Trump campaign's use of the White House and Old Executive Office Building as an "election day war room," stating that it "runs afoul of the Hatch Act," according to a statement from his office.

The Office of the Special Counsel is investigating the matter.

In August, Pascrell sent a letter to Postal Service Inspector General Tammy L. Whitcomb in which he demanded an investigation into operational changes within the U.S. Postal Service instituted by Postmaster General Louis DeJoy.

He called the USPS changes a "deliberate attempt to destroy the post office," adding that "one of the crown jewels of our nation is under manufactured siege."
