Saddle Brook Location Added To NJ's COVID Vaccine Site List

SADDLE BROOK, NJ — Riverside Medical Group's Saddle Brook location is one of the latest editions to New Jersey's public coronavirus vaccine site list, but not everyone can get the vaccine just yet.

Riverside's Saddle Brook office, as well as Bergen County's mega-site at the Meadowlands, brings the total site list to 13.

Riverside officials announced through a statement on the company's website that vaccines are available, but only to healthcare personnel in the Phase 1A category.

Health Commissioner Judith Persichilli said the state plans to increase the number of vaccination sites beyond 300. State officials have said the goal is to vaccinate 70 percent of the adult population by the spring.

Still, challenges remain in acquiring doses of the vaccine.

Holy Name Medical officials aren't taking appointments for vaccinations due to a lack of doses, they announced.

The Meadowlands mega-site is closed on Tuesday due to a shortage as well, but Gov. Phil Murphy said he expects operations to resume Wednesday.

Saddle Brook has 258 active cases of the coronavirus in the township, according to Mayor Bob White.

Cases have risen considerably during the second surge of the virus, White said, with a total of 903 cases reported.

White attempted to reassure residents in a recent letter.

He said he understood frustrations about the rollout of the vaccine as cases continue to rise, but was assured that the process would speed up in the coming days.

"I know many of you look forward to being vaccinated and are frustrated with the process. I've been reassured that New Jersey has the infrastructure in place to handle the task of vaccinating its residents," said White.
