Summonses Expected For Driver Who Hit Girl, Dad
A driver hit the girl and her father while they were crossing Fair Lawn Avenue at Abbott Road Wednesday evening.

A 10-year-old girl and her 35-year-old dad were hospitalized after being hit by a minivan on Fair Lawn Avenue Wednesday evening, according to Fair Lawn Police Sgt. Brian Metzler.
The collision occurred shortly before 5:30 p.m. when the pair were crossing the street at Abbott Road and the driver was traveling eastbound on Fair Lawn Avenue. The girl and the man were both sent to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, Metzler said.
Summonses were pending for the 50-year-old driver, he said.
Pedestrian safety has been an ongoing concern in Fair Lawn. Local students recently distributed reflective safety tags to commuters at the Radburn Station and several upcoming projects, including some on Fair Lawn Avenue, are designed to make it safer to cross the street.
