FORT LEE, N.J. — Callahan’s, the famous restaurant well known for its crunchy, deep-fried hot dogs, is returning to where it all started.
The longtime hot dog restaurant closed in 2006, but has been revived in Norwood with a restaurant in Norwood and food trucks. The founder’s nephew, Daniel DeMiglio, brought the restaurant back.
Now, Lenny Castrianni, the founder’s son, will operate the Fort Lee business separate from DeMiglio, The Record reported.

Callahan’s Hot Dog Emporium will open May 23 at 1400 Anderson Ave.
The menu will include the same as the first Callahan’s — hot dogs, hamburgers, fries — and it will have some new items like hot dog-filled sushi.
