Free Holiday Concert

Fort Lee Library Presents the Final FREE Holiday Concert on Sunday, December 18th at 2pm.

The library will welcome the husband and wife team of SVITLANA SYRTSOVA and SERGEI KRIVONOS for a “Piano Duo Extravaganza!” Come prepared to leave in a festive mood and ready to face the upcoming holidays with joy. Listen to the magic of four hands playing one piano as the couple delights us with uplifting music including Schubert’s Fantasy, Saint-Saens’ Carnival of Animals, and Khachaturian’s Waltz from Masquerade.  Come wearing your saddest frowns and leave with smiles and Peace of
minds.

SVITLANA SYRTSOVA received her D.M.A. in Piano Performance from the Ukrainian Academy of Music,and Ed. M. from the Teachers College, Columbia University. She has
been a 2nd Special Award winner of the 21st Bartok Prokofiev International Piano Competition, a finalist of the 9th Simone Belsky Competition and J.S. Bach Pian Competition. Ms. Syrtsovahas performed extensively as a piano recitalist and a chamber musician developing a diverse repertoire, which includes music from Baroque to the Contemporary. In addition to performing, she teaches privately in New York and Westchester.

Distinguished Ukrainian pianist, SERGEY KRIVONOS successfully combines solo and chamber perfor¬mances with a teaching career. His solo repertoire includes some thirty recitals and chamber music programs in all styles, ranging from Bach, Prokofiev to Messiaen.As a professor of piano of Kharkov State Conservatory, Ukraine, and of the University of North Texas, he has developed numerous international prize-winners in both the Ukraine and the United States. In 2007, Mr. Krivonos received the honorary degree of Doctor of Arts from Kharkov State University in recognition of his achievements and contribution to music. Currently, Sergey Krivonos is a visiting professor at Eastman School of Music, Rochester, NY and a piano faculty member at Kaufman Center, New York.

Admission is free. Children of all ages are welcomed.
