Photographs of Bob Leddy taken during the Korean War

The Gallery at Fort Lee Public library will be displaying, during the month of
March, the personal photographs of Mr. Bob Leddy taken during the Korean War. The
exhibit was rescheduled from November 2012.
Drafted into the army in October 1951, Bob Leddy went to camp Chaffee, Arkansas to
complete his basic training and upon completion he was assigned to the 630-Ordinance
Ammunition Company stationed in Korea.  Mr. Leddy set sail from Seattle, Washington
to Busan (formerly spelled, Pusan) Korea then proceeded by train to Seoul from where
he went by truck North to the 38th parallel and the 630-Ordinance Ammunition Company
where he spent the next 15 months distributing ammunition to units. There was a lot
to photograph in Korea between the military installations and the poverty of the
people. The pictures tell the rest of the story. This collection of rare photographs
from Mr. Leddy’s personal collection has been displayed in various libraries in Bergen County.
The Gallery is open during library hours. For more information click here to visit the Fort Lee Library's website.
