Leonia Vocalist to Debut With Verismo Opera in Norma
Tenor Theron Cromer of Leonia, NJ debuts with Verismo Opera in NORMA on October 28 at the Bergen Performing Arts Center.

The New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera announces tenor Theron Cromer of Leonia, New Jersey debuts with the company to perform Flavio in the company's production of Vincenzo Bellini's Norma. The opera will be performed on October 28, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC), located at 30 North Van Brunt Street in Englewood, New Jersey.
Cromer, a member of the Leonia High School class of 2008, graduated from Montclair State University's voice performance program. At the university, he performed in several operas, including the title role in Albert Herring, Dialogues of the Carmelites, and Il Cambiale di Matrimonio. As a graduate, he continued to perform at the university, appearing in the lead role in Gaetano Donizetti's Il Giovedi Grasso.
This past summer, he traveled to Fiera di Primiero, Italy and performed the role of Don Ottavio in the Music Academy International's production of Don Giovanni conducted by David Jackson of the Met Opera. With the Opera Theater of Montclair, Cromer performed Abdallo in Giuseppe Verdi's Nabucco and Pedrillo in Amadeus Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail.

His appearances also include performing concerts and cabarets with Opera at Florham. He sang the coronation mass with Choral Art Society of New Jersey and Elijah with West Side Presbyterian Church in Ridgewood, New Jersey.

Verismo Opera presents the dramatic opera in two acts, with the libretto by Felice Romani. Under Principal Conductor/Music Director Lucy Arner, a live orchestra accompanies the performance, with Chorus Director/Associate Conductor Michael Wittenburg leading the Verismo Opera Chorus. General Manager/Stage Director Evelyn La Quaif directs the fully staged opera. The entire cast performs in period costumes singing in Italian. English supertitles are projected on a screen for the audience to follow.

Tickets are on sale at bergenPAC’s box office, located at 30 North Van Brunt Street in Englewood, New Jersey. Patrons may also call (201) 227-1030 or toll-free at 1-888-PACSHOW. Regularly priced tickets may be purchased online.
Special rates are still available for children ($10 for ages 12 and under), senior citizens (10% off any regular priced ticket not combined with other offers), and groups ($55, $45 tickets only with a minimum purchase of 10) through October 28. Purchase the discount tickets for children and seniors in person or by calling bergenPAC's box office. These special rates are not available online and must be requested before purchasing a ticket.
