Longtime Fort Lee Soccer Coach Inducted Into Hall Of Fame

Bob Ciccone was Bridgemen head coach for 15 years. He was the winningest soccer coach in school history with 161 wins.

FORT LEE, NJ — Bob Ciccone, the winningest soccer coach in Fort Lee High School history, is a hall of famer.

Ciccone and 34 others were honored by the New Jersey Scholastic Coaches Association Sunday night at the organization's awards program.

Ciccone finished his career with the Bridgemen with a record of 161-97-15 and was the Big North Coach of the Year and won the Big North American Division title in 2011, his final one with the program. He won the first league title in the school's history in 1998.

“I have been very fortunate to be able to coach at Fort Lee for so long," Ciccone previously said. "I was able to come along when the soccer program was just turning around. The in town youth soccer program was starting to build up and grow and send better prepared players to the high school.”

Ciccone also coached basketball and golf. He was named Bergen County Golf Coach of the Year in 2009. He coach golf at Hasbrouck Heights High School.

Ciccone spoke highly of his former players when he retired.

"The most rewarding part of coaching is definitely the players," he said. "It is such a great feeling when players come back to watch the games or just seeing them around town and having them ask how soccer is going."
