Reasons why I like living in Teaneck
Teaneck is beautiful and it gives me everything I need.
Teaneck NJ: Teaneck is a town in Bergen County, northern New Jersey, and it is a suburb in New York metropolitan area. Thanks to the Fulbright scholarship of the U.S. Department of State, I have an opportunity to reside in Teaneck during my graduate school at Fairleigh Dickinson University, metropolitan campus.
Teaneck is so beautiful all year round. Unlike west coast or other parts of the U.S., four seasons in Teaneck, New Jersey, are clearly distinctive. More than one year of living here, the town always amazes me with its beautiful nature. In spring, I enjoy watching cherry blossom; in summer, I enjoy jogging around the neighborhood full of a fresh smell of green grass; in fall, I cannot get enough of taking good pictures of colorful foliage; in winter, I love walking around and enjoy the beauty of this romantic town in white color. There is no doubt that New Jersey is named as a Garden State.
In Teaneck, you can get almost everything here. Many of the stores and supermarkets are within walking and biking distance. There are several grocery stores and small shops along cedar lane such as Stop and Shop, Cedar market, Amazing Savings, etc. You can also get a very fresh produce and fish from Giant Farmer Market (I really love going there, because I am a foodie). With just 5 minutes drive, you can go to 99 Ranch market, an Asian and a Chinese grocery store. I love the daily-made roasted duck and dim-sum at its food court. Also, Costco and Walmart are within 10-15 minutes drive. Teaneck is also just 10 minutes from New Jersey’s largest mall-Westfield Garden State Plaza and 30 minutes from the state’s largest outlet-The Mills at Jersey Garden. Unlike most states in the U.S., New Jersey is a TAX-FREE state for essential items.

It is pretty convenient to get to New York City (NYC), a never-sleep city in the world. It takes you 30 minutes by car and 50 minutes by a public bus, which runs till midnight. Lots of events, conferences, and meetings in NYC keep calling me every week. I love being part of the city, but sometimes this crowded city overwhelms me, but Teaneck can sooth my feeling by providing me a relaxing, spacious and green environment. I am glad to call Teaneck “home” for two years of my graduate school in the U.S.
