Rock Slide Closes Part Of Scenic Road In Palisades Interstate Park
Alpine Approach Road is expected to be closed until next week.
A rock slide has closed the Alpine Approach Road in the Palisades Interstate Park.
The 1-and-one-quarter-mile long roadway connects the Henry Hudson Drive with the Alpine park entrance near exit 2 on the Palisades Interstate Parkway.
Park officials said that a contractor would clear the debris early next week and that the roadway will remain closed throughout the weekend.
Road access to the Alpine picnic area and boat basin is available by the Henry Hudson Drive from the Edgewater or Englewood Cliffs park entrances.
