A new ordinance will prohibit smoking at outdoor restaurants in Fort Lee, according to a report by MyBergen.com.

The ordinance requires that no-smoking signs be posted at all outdoor cafes and restaurants in Fort Lee, the report states.

Violators will face a minimum fine of $250 for a first offense, $500 for a second offense, and $1000 for all offenses thereafter, according to the report.

A similar ordinance was passed in 2014 to prevent smoking in public places and parks, the report states.
