All Day Alba & Little Hoboken Empower in Pink at Local BCA Event
Activewear brand All Day Alba joins Little Hoboken to encourage women to feel Empowered in Pink this October

Women’s activewear outfitter All Day Alba joins Little Hoboken, a go-to resource for moms and families to help the women of the world feel Empowered in Pink this October. These women-run businesses used their platforms to help raise money and awareness to further the fight against breast and ovarian cancer.
“Empowering women is the heart and soul of our mission at All Day Alba,” remarks Rachel Katzin, co-founder All Day Alba. “Partnering with Bright Pink and Little Hoboken’s Fight Like a Mother team inspires meaningful action through education and cancer risk assessment tools that save our sisters lives everyday.”
Rachel knows just how important it is to detect and treat these types of cancers as early as possible. Three years ago, her sister was diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Today, after having fought the disease with enormous courage, she is healthy and living life to the fullest. This is why Rachel and her business partner Brielle Mayberg Halbert decided to partner with Bright Pink, to help save lives by educating young women on the importance of prevention, early detection, and early treatment of breast and ovarian cancers. They have pledged to donate 20 percent of all pink purchases to help fund Bright Pink’s mission.
Bright Pink, is a national nonprofit organization focusing on the prevention of breast and ovarian cancer in women. The organization’s big goal for this month is to motivate a half-million women to move beyond awareness to action and use the Assess Your Risk tool in 2019 and beyond. Bright Pink and All Day Alba aim to encourage their fans, family, and friends to assess their risk now because there is nothing more beautiful than women empowering each other.

At the local level the Alba team has joined forces with mom blog Little Hoboken and their Fight Like a Mother team, which participated in a fund and awareness raising walk hosted by Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Jersey City on October 20, 2019 held at Lincoln Park in Jersey City. Little Hoboken’s team led by supermom Nathalie Crews-Vargo, recently won her fight against breast cancer while holding down a full-time job and balancing her family life. She has been working with Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Jersey City to get as many people involved in the fight as possible.
“There is so much good that comes out of having a month dedicated to breast cancer,” remarks Nathalie Crews-Vargo, breast cancer survivor. “I can’t emphasize enough how critical early detection is. Monthly self-exams can help save a life. I am literally living proof.”
Nathalie spearheaded the creation of Little Hoboken’s team (LH Fight Like a Mother) and inspired participants with her story of survival during the opening ceremony for this year’s walk. She attributes her profound courage to the outflow of support she received from the Hoboken community while undergoing chemotherapy. Little Hoboken has also called on local businesses to join the fight by donating a percentage of their income on certain items to support Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. As the saying goes, in order to do well we must do good. This couldn’t be more true for these women-led businesses working together to put an end to breast and ovarian cancers.
