Springsteen's Childhood Home In Freehold Sold For $255K
The two-story, two-family home where the rock star grew up was sold in May, according to realtor.com.

FREEHOLD, NJ — If you were saving your pennies to purchase a piece of rock 'n' roll history, well, your time has run out: Bruce Springsteen's childhood home in Freehold has been sold.
The sale of the home at 39 Institute St. in Freehold closed on May 23, with the buyer paying $255,000 for the four-bedroom home that was built in 1905, according to the just sold listing on realtor.com.
Springsteen lived in the home from the age of 5 until he started high school, according to NJnext.com. The lyrics sheet from the "Born to Run" album features a photo of Springsteen leaning against a tree with the home behind him.

He wrote about it in his autobiography, the site notes: “No hot water, four tiny rooms, four blocks away from my grandparents,” he wrote. “… I was roaring with anger and loss and every chance I got, I returned to stay with my grandparents.”
The home went on the market in late November 2017.
