2 New Stores Open in Hackettstown

Home décor shop and Homebrew University come to Main Street.

Main Street Hackettstown had a lot to celebrate Friday.

The Hackettstown Business Improvement District (BID) welcomed two new stores which opened Friday, Luce Custom Home Décor and Homebrew University. The two stores celebrated their grand openings in back-to-back ceremonies that required residents to walk only feet from the first to the second store.

Luce Custom Home Décor opened the doors at their new location, 289 Main St., at 10 a.m. Friday. They offered food, giveaways and discounts as well as live music throughout the day and continuing until 9 p.m., with the ribbon cutting at 4 p.m.

Luce DeMark, the owner of the store, has worked in interior design for over 18 years and is excited to move to a new, larger storefront. The store offers everything from furniture and window treatments to jewelry and wallpaper, as well as interior decoration consultation.

Down the road at 160 Main St., Homebrew University opened to the delight of aspiring and experienced homebrewers of beer and ale. Homebrew University offers three services to customers: Retail, the actual selling of kits, grains, wheats, hops and other ingredients for making your own beer; Study, with books and how-to videos to teach you how to make your own beer at home; and On-Site Brewing Labs, where you can take a class with instructors to learn how to make beer using the store's equipment.

This reporter thinks she can guess what every Hackettstown husband will get for Christmas this year.

The Opening Day celebrations for the two stores continue through Friday afternoon and evening until 9 p.m.
