Assault Charges And Medivac Ride For Hackettstown Man: Police
A pair of brawls led to several charges for Brad Mackowicz, authorities said.
HACKETTSTOWN, NJ - Two Hackettstown residents were charged after a pair of street fights on Sept. 9, according to authorities.
Shortly before 7:30 p.m. Hackettstown police responded to 80 Main Street for a report of a physical dispute. An officer arrived to find traffic stopped in the area of 144 Main Street and found 38-year-old Brad Mackowicz in a dispute with a Hackettstown teenager Mackowicz reportedly slapped the victim and slammed his head into glass, police said.
The 19-year-old suffered a head injury and refused medical attention at the scene and Mackowicz was charged with disorderly conduct, simple assault and disturbing the peace and was released pending a court appearance, police said.

A little more than 90 minutes later Hackettstown police responded to the area of 190 Main Street for a report of a physical dispute where 42 year-old Jefferey Binns of Hackettstown had picked a fight with Mackowicz over the earlier fight.
Mackowicz he kicked Binn twice in the head while he was on the ground.

When officers arrived, George Binns, 68, of Hackettstown obstructed an officer’s ability to investigate the assault and charged after the suspect as another officer was taking him into custody, police said.
Jeff Binn suffered serious injuries to his leg and was airlifted to Morristown Medical Center.
Mackowicz was charged on Sept. 9 with simple assault, disorderly conduct and disturbing the peace, police said and was lodged in the Warren County Correctional Facility.
