Budd Lake Man Charged with Driving Under the Influence in Hackettstown
The arrest followed a reported car accident involving multiple vehicles at the intersection of route 46 and route 517, according to police.
HACKETTSTOWN, NEW JERSEY — A Budd Lake, NJ man was arrested Thursday night following a reported car accident involving multiple vehicles at the intersection of route 46 and route 517, according to Hackettstown Police.
Following an investigation, it was determined that John Degrigoli, 21, of Budd Lake, NJ, was traveling west on route 46 in a 2009 Toyota, police said. As Degrigoli was driving, he looked down for a moment and then struck a 2014 Ford was was parked along route 46, according to police.
Degrigoli then struck a 2015 Toyota that was parked in front of the Ford, according to police. Degrigoli did not remember what happened after he looked down, police said. Both parked vehicles were unoccupied. There were no injuries reported in the crash. The officer determined that Degrigoli showed signs of impairment and then had a drug recognition expert continue the investigation, according to police.

Degrigoli was charged with driving under the influence, careless driving and failure to maintain lane. He was released pending a court appearance.
