Hackettstown Duck Race Makes A Splash

Proceeds from event went toward funding the Hackettstown Foundation for Educational Excellence grant program.

Hackettstown painted the town red -- actually, yellow -- when residents came out to watch those signature rubber duckies "race" across the pond.

The 2014 Duck Race at Alumni Field last Saturday brought out crowds of people for book reading, face and hand painting, duck-themed games and more in support of the Hackettstown Foundation for Educational Excellence.

Proceeds went toward funding the foundation's grant program, which accepts grant applications from teachers at Hatchery Hill, Willow Grove, Hackettstown Middle School and High School to fund programs not serviced by the Board of Education or PTA.

Participants also got to take their very own duck home, and some are available for "adoption" if you missed out.

Those seeking more information on the foundation may visit its website for details.
