Hackettstown Resident Accused of Punching Man Speaking to His Ex-Girlfriend
David Murphy, 33, was charged with simple assault in incident Tuesday outside Quick Chek.
A Hackettstown resident was arrested Tuesday for punching a man who was with his ex-girlfriend, police said.
David Murphy, 33, was charged with simple assault stemming from the incident in the Quick Chek parking lot at about 5:50 p.m. Tuesday.
According to Sgt. Darren Tynan, Murphy was walking on Route 182 when he saw a man speaking with a woman he previously dated. Murphy then began punching the man through an open car window, Tynan said.
Murphy, who also had a $500 Hackettstown municipal warrant, was charged and released pending a court appearance.
