Honking Car Horn Exposes Driver Passed Out on Heroin, Cops Say

Francine Triano, 44, faces drug charges after she was found last week in a Main Street parking lot.

The Hackettstown Police Department said a local woman is facing charges including heroin possession after being discovered allegedly passed out behind the steering wheel of a vehicle whose horn honked repeatedly in a Main Street parking lot early Friday morning.

Police said they received a noise complaint about a honking vehicle horn just before 1 a.m. last Friday. Upon arriving at the scene at 80 Main St., the officer reported seeing a woman who appeared to be passed out behind the steering wheel of a parked car. She was identified as 44-year-old Hackettstown resident Francine Triano.

Sgt. Darren Tynan said Triano was found in possession of one wax fold of suspected heroin, three measuring spoons with suspected heroin and seven hypodermic needles.

Triano was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of hypodermic needles, Tynan said, adding that she was released pending a court appearance.
