Peddler Caught Selling Audio Equipment Out of His Van, Cops Say

James Lynan, of Hillsdale, was selling the items without a Hackettstown permit, police said.

You can't just sell stuff out of your van. That's what James Lynan found out last Saturday when he ran afoul of Hackettstown Police Saturday morning for allegedly offering Vanderbach audio equipment for sale from his vehicle.

Police received a call that a man was allegedly selling the audio equipment from the back of his 2014 Chrysler Town and Country van around 9:50 a.m. in a parking lot on Route 517.

The van was gone when police arrived, but they soon located it on Allen Road in Mansfield Township.
