HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — A local teenager was sent to the hospital after a cow charged at him, knocking him down a concrete ramp, police said.

The teen, a 18-year-old from Independence, was working at the Livestock Auction Market Tuesday morning when he was injured, police said. He was trying to put the cow into its stall, when the cow "pushed back and charged at him," police said.

The cow knocked the teen into a gate, before he fell down a concrete ramp. He sustained head and facial injuries, but was awake when police arrived. He was taken to Morristown Medical Center by Hackettstown Rescue Squad for treatment.
