Wanted Burglar Arrested After Stealing Cigarettes From Porch of Hackettstown Home: Police

Tyler Doyle, 20, of Allamuchy Twp. had outstanding warrants from Warren County and Hackettstown, police said.

HACKETTSTOWN, N.J.– Hackettstown police said they arrested a 20-year-old Allamuchy Twp. man wanted for burglary after finding him on the front porch of a Washington Street residence.

Tyler Doyle on Tuesday took a pack of cigarettes from the porch before running, Sgt. Darren Tynan said.

As he was running, Doyle threw a hypodermic needle in the street, Tynan said.

Doyle had outstanding warrants from the Warren County Prosecutor's Office and a Hackettstown municipal warrant, according to Tynan.

Officers arrested Doyle at the intersection of Madison and West Plane streets, Tynan said.

He was charged with theft by unlawful taking, resisting arrest, possession of a hypodermic needle and being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, Tynan said.

Doyle was turned over to the Warren County Sheriff's Department before being ordered held in the Warren County Correctional Facility, the sergeant said.
