HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ — A new music video that came out this week by indie pop band Bleachers, titled "Stop Making This Hurt," is set in Hasbrouck Heights's Bendix Diner.

The popular eatery off of NJ-17 was also the backdrop in the filming of a scene in the upcoming "Sopranos" Prequel movie, manager John Diakakis told Patch.

He said that scene had actually been shot a long time ago, even before COVID-19 hit.

The prequel is set to be released in September 2021, according to Deadline.

With its distinct outdoor neon sign and old-time feel, Bendix Diner has been featured in multiple other productions, from movies to photoshoots, including James Arthur's 2019 music video for "Falling Like The Stars," the 1995 movie "Boys On The Side," with Whoppi Goldberg, and an episode of the first season of "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee," with Jerry Seinfeld.

It was even used for a shoot involving American apparel brand Ralph Lauren at one point.

"I just think it's the nostalgic and old look of it," Diakakis said of the family diner's popularity in media, adding it opened way back in 1945. "I think because it's been around for say 70 years, there's just a lot of history. And it's kind of like a local hang out."

Diakakus has been working at Bendix since the early 1990s. He joked that he has been "the guy behind the counter," for at least a couple of these productions.

However, this time, with COVID-19 safety measures, the diner staff wasn't allowed to be around during the filming of the music video, which happened a few months ago.

The video features lead singer Jack Antonoff dancing around to the sound of the jukebox and getting up on tables and countertops — eventually being joined by saxophone players and servers.
